Lash Fire Project "More effective fire response procedures on board ro-ro vessels"

When a fire ignites and spread in a ro-ro space, time is key. You must have the right procedures in place, know the responsibilities of yourself and others and have the right equipment at hand. You must also be able to trust that the alarm system communicates and is synchronized perfectly with the other systems onboard. Crew members are rarely firefighters but still this is a reality that they might be faced with.

The Spanish Maritime Rescue and Safety Agency, through the Jovellanos Centre,  participates in the Lash Fire project, leading the WP6, which objectives are more effective fire managing operations in all stages of a ro-ro space fire through the design and evaluation of new operations, equipment, training, and decision-making guidelines will be developed in four actions with the following goals: WP6 | lashfire.eu
