This course has been designed for personnel who hold “Basic Safety Training” certificate and need to update their proficiency.

Requirement: Have the Certificate of Basic Safety Training.

Goals

The course has been designed to update the practical skills set out in the Resolution dated 21 September of the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine.

Law: Updated Proficiency in “Basic Safety Training” according to the Resolution dated 21 September of the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine.

Ministry of Civil Works order of 4 September 2002.

Updated Proficiency in basic safety, regulated by:

Fire-fighting: Amended STCW/78 Convention: Rule VI/1; Section A-VI/1.3; Table A-VI/ 1-2 of the Code.

Survive at sea: Amended STCW/78 Convention: Rule VI/1; Section A-VI/1.3; Table A-VI/ 1-1 of the Code.

The Jovellanos Center is homologated by the DGMM Resolution of June 16, 2003.

Program

Survive at Sea in the event of  ship abandonment.

Fire prevention and fire fighting.

Duration

The course consists of 16 hours and it´s delivered over a period of  2 days.

Certificate

Valid for 5 years.
