Controllers with experience in VTS and an interest in teaching.

Requirements: Hold a current VTS IALA C0103-1 certificate.

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to carry out correctly the role of an IALA VTS training instructor.

Maritime legislation: Model course IALA C0103-4 On-the-job Instructor and the Resolution of the General Direction of the Merchant Marine of 6th July 2011.

Development of a VTS centre specific training programme.

Simulation as instructional technique.

Preparation of a trainee specific programme.

Delivery of On-the-job training (one-on-one coaching).

Evaluation/assessment/examination of trainees. Completion of OJT leading to authorisation to operate.

Practical training:

The use of portable simulator.

Public presentation.

Delivery of On-the-job training (one-on-one coaching).

Practical implementation.

Briefing/Debriefing.

The course consists of 24 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 4 days..

The certificate will be valid for 5 years.
