Goals

Awareness about LNG emergency management on board ships, knowledge and skills about the different types and methods of LNG bunkering, fire fighting agents and methods used to control and extinguish fires in conjunction with the different fuels found on board ships subject to the IGF Code.

Maritime legislation: The program of the course “Basic training for ships subject to the IGF Code” comply with MSC.397(95) Resolution adopted on 11th of June 2015, about mandatory minimum standards regarding special training requirements for personnel on board ships subject to the IGF Code.

Course and evaluation training complying with Regulation V/3.5 STCW, 1978 as amended in 2010; Section A-V/3.1; Table A-V/3-1.

Program

Contribute to the safe operation of a ship subject to the IGF Code.

Take precautions to prevent hazards on a ship subject to the IGF Code.

Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures.

Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of fuels found on ships subject to the IGF Code.

Practices: Carry-out firefighting operations on a ship subject to the IGF Code.

Duration

The course consists of 12 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 2 days.
