Identification of risks associated with embarking and disembarking from ships
Collective

Personnel who regularly or occasionally use means to access ships for on-
board inspections, ship assistance, or emergency response.

  • Registration for the course is free of charge. Admission will depend on the order in
which applications are received and the number of places available for each edition.
  • Dates:
    - Week 43, 20-27 October

Goals

Assess the safety conditions needed for accessing a ship, identify
deficiencies in the access methods in accordance with regulations, select the
appropriate personal protective equipment, execute the embarkation and
disembarkation manoeuvres safely, and determine whether the
environmental conditions allow the manoeuvre to be carried out safely.

Methodology

A platform that facilitates immersive, practical online training in 3D virtual scenarios, developed by experts in simulation, online training technologies, and cloud platform development.

.- Theory: This section introduces the key concepts of the course, emphasising applicable regulations and procedures.
.- Virtual Reality Practical Training: This section applies the knowledge acquired in a simulated environment that accurately replicates critical situations.
For this purpose, two broad categories of scenarios have been defined, depending on the location of the vessel:
- In-port scenarios (vessel at berth)
- At-sea scenarios (ship at anchor)
