This course has been designed for captains and officers of the Merchant Marine as well as people holding certificates in Nautical Fishing who can be officers of the watch on ships under the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System in Zone A1.
This course provides basic level of maritime radio qualification. Students learn to operate VHF radio equipment, transmit and receive distress signals, carry out radio operations within A1 Sea area.
Law: The course is adapted to the requirements of the International Convention on Training, Title and Guard for Seafarers (STCW 1978/95) with the Manila Amendments 2010, RULE IV/2; SECTION A-IV/2 and ERC/DEC/ (99)01. ITU-RRCC.47.22 – IMO 1.25. STCW course endorsed in Spain by the DGMM.
Overview of radio regulations and available systems.
Operation of marine VHF radio equipment, VHF DSC, Navtex receiver, handheld VHF.
Operational procedures for distress and safety communications in (GMDSS).
Practical training: Simulation with D.G.M.M. approved equipment.
The course consists of 40 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 5 days.
