The Annual European Coast Guard Event 2026 (AECGE), held in Ponta Delgada (Azores) on 9–10 June, brought together coastguard authorities, European Union agencies and maritime experts from across Europe, including representatives of the Spanish Maritime Rescue Agency (Salvamento Marítimo).

Yesterday, Julián Camus, Director of the Jovellanos Centre, dependent on Salvamento Marítimo, took part in a panel discussion on “The Importance of Strengthening Cooperation at the Regional Level.”

During the event, the European Greening Award Initiative’s sustainability prizes were presented. Salvamento Marítimo’s multi-purpose vessel, Heroínas de Sálvora, was awarded second place. Congratulations to her crew!
