From 9 to 12 September, a delegation from the Spanish Maritime Administration attended various events organised by the Italian Coast Guard in Rome.
• Tuesday started with the plenary session of the European Coast Guard Functions Forum, the most important event of the week, where all European coastguard services share best practices, review the various workshops held throughout the year, and decide on future actions.
• The Mediterranean Coast Guard Forum took place on Wednesday.
• And finally, Thursday and Friday were dedicated to the biannual Coast Guard Global Summit.
The Spanish Maritime Administration delegation was headed by Ana Núñez, Director General of the Merchant Navy, Enrique San Martín, Technical Advisor for the Eastern Region of the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy, and Julián Camus Bergareche, Director of the Jovellano Centre, the training center of the Spanish Maritime Rescue and Safety Agency.
At the plenary session of the Mediterranean Forum, Carlos Fernández Salinas, Head of VTS, and Raquel Rojo, VTS instructor at the Jovellanos Centre, gave a presentation on traffic control services provided by the the training center of the Spanish Maritime Rescue and Safety Agency.
