We are attending the second workshop of the European Coastguard Functions Forum in Giochia (Italy), organised by @EFCA_EU and chaired by Italy.
Our delegation is headed by José Rada on behalf of the #Directorate General of the Merchant Navy, and, the Maritime Rescue Agency is represented by Julián Camus, the director of the Jovellanos Centre.
In 2027, Spain will chair the Forum and organise the corresponding annual activities.
- This forum is autonomous, non-binding, voluntary and independent, bringing together more than 30 national coastguard authorities from EU countries and Schengen associated countries.
- Its goal is to promote understanding and development of maritime issues of common interest related to coastguard functions.
The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) and the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) promote these meetings and participate as observers.
